About the Medical Clinic

Shades Mountain Imaging is a full-service, stand-alone diagnostic imaging center in Vestavia, led by C. Michael Mead, M.D., a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with over 25 years of experience.

Shades Mountain Imaging has been serving Jefferson County and surrounding areas since 2004. Shades Mountain Imaging is one of three centers Dr. C. Michael Mead owns and operates. Our center sets itself apart from other free-standing centers in the area by providing MULTI MODALITY services with same day appointments. We provide an array of services that others do not which provides our patients with “one stop shopping” for diagnostic services. No other free-standing centers in the area provide MRI/MRA/MRE, CT/CTA, Ultrasound and X-Ray, all under the same roof! Our technologists and
staff are friendly and knowledgeable and provide excellent care for all of our patients.

We are proud to offer the latest technology in MRI with the new Canon Vantage Titan, Zen Edition. Our MRI enhances comfort for patients by offering a theater package. Patients are able to watch a video while having their MRI performed which gives a more relaxing experience.

Additionally we use state-of-the-art MRI, MRA, CT, CTA, ultrasound, and X-ray technologies to provide patients with precise, accurate and timely results.
